What’s Love Got To Do With It? Jane Austen and the Unmarried State.
May 21 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

We plan to have an in-person meeting as well as a ZOOM component. (Details to follow).
The presentation will address marriage, its risks and benefits, and Jane Austen’s
personal situation regarding marriage. What are the risks of marrying for security (money, a home), and for physical attraction. The concepts of unequal marriage are discussed as well as the reasons for marriage in Jane Austen’s novels, and what the real basis for a successful marriage would be.
